Final Bachelor project
Post-bachelor
Because my FBP will take place in my fourth year at ID, I have not made exact plans for my project, direction and goals for the project. Therefore one of my goals is to develop an idea for this. With the squads, I am leaning towards ARTIFICE, in which I also completed my research design Project 3, where I experienced a pleasant atmosphere and a lot of freedom with the choice of a subject. Aligning more to the mental wellbeing of my vision, is Health and Inclusive design, where it might not be possible to focus on events and festivals as the squad offers less freedom through predetermined projects and user groups. Lastly, I see Future Mobility as a candidate for my FBP as projects here are often more practical, aligning with my identity as active learner and hands-on experience designer.
Although my FBP will go down next year, which means I have not created a FBP competence development plan, I have already thought about developments I want to make during this graduation project. I want to develop my storytelling skills as main base for experience design, aiming to improve my presentations. Additionally I want to apply previous learned technical skills and further develop these skills. In addition to this, I want to develop my academic integrity by having a more scientific reasoning for design actions. This applies to all expertise areas and skills, where a more academically grounded approach could strengthen my design quality.
As of now, I am still unsure if I want to pursue my studies after finishing my Bachelor of Industrial Design. If certain job opportunities emerge, I might start working after this study. With my internship I experienced that I enjoyed working in the creative field of the event industry. And real world experience is of high value, and with working in the field, I will be able to develop myself more targeted towards this.
If I decide to pursue my studies, this could lead to a HBO-master within event management, to develop my knowledge and aim towards working in the event industry. A master of Arts could also fit to my interest in festivals and experience design. I recently came across a Master of Arts in Event and Exhibition Design in Milan, which focuses on the design of event experiences, like museums. A master in ID could also be a good option as with this study I have many freedom to develop my identity and vision and learn targeted towards this vision.
